The kudus goal is probably the worst decision.

Ref gave a foul on Martinez (who couldn’t handle our balls into box all game) .
He blew his whistle before kudus scored but it meant that Var couldn’t overrule as everyone had stopped.

If this was LiVARpool involved all 3 would have been given without question!

Master - that was the worst of all 3 disallowed goals, yet doesn’t get a mention.

So you're calling Dino out for fluffing a couple of chances but as usual you darent call out Moyes for fucking up the whole game by making the most ridiculous decisions, sitting back and woeful substitutions... you really are Moyes's lapdog arent you?

We've always got a mistake in us for a goal against unfortunately. I thought is was a good contest and would have won it pre VAR but looks like officials decisions will always go against a fair team.

Least Phillips will have a few games in the side before we go to Germany. Although playing alongside the useless cunt Soucek I do feel for the bloke

You got that the other way around, Rossal. Contrary to the genuinely useless Phillips, Soucek is actually a decent Defensive Midfielder who also manages to time and again make/score important goals for us and almost gave us the winning goal at the death too of it weren't for VAR intervening. His passing isn't great but it's so overstated compared to all the rest of his game that's excellent in the role that he plays.

This season alone already he has scored 9, assisted 2. Overall he's scored 31, assisted 10. For a Defensive Midfielder that gets through a dogs amount of work (getting often badly hurt in the process), that's impressive. Useless is the word I'd least use to describe Super Tom. Potato salad munching warrior goal machine would be more apt.

Can anyone remember the last time “let’s hold on to 1-0” has worked for us? We’ve got a defensive team that cannot defend

Bank - Yes, it come up and was said (on my feed anyway) that the ref showed no consistency and the player was lucky. Tbf, I've said before that I don't mind a ref showing a bit of common sense, leniency, if a second yellow means a red card, but in this case the ref did bottle it as it was blatant and not even open to interpretation, and so soon after booking Dinos for the same thing too.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread - Preview
Not sure if this was shown on the TV/Streams but around 86 minutes the Villa goalscorer, Zaniolo, who had previously been booked in that altercation with Alvarez, took umbrage at the one of refs later decisions and larroped the ball off the pitch, after booking Kudus(?) for doing the exact same thing earlier in the game, he bottled doing the same to Zaniolo, which would've meant an inevitable sending off.

Did the commentators pick up on this and were they as fucking angry at that cunt of a ref as I was?

ps Moyes should be piiloried for sitting back and allowing Villa take control of that second half without having a grain of nous, to tactically arrest back some level of control, the cunt

Pretty sure that goal was ruled out for a foul on the keeper. The whistle went well before he got his shot away.

Refereeing and VAR issues aside. I think this has always bee a common theme with Moyes and always will be. His natural instinct is to go defensive.

So we have two problems. Antonio is injured and Digne is threatening down their left. Most people would swap Antonio for Ings and tell Kudus to sit slightly deeper to snub out Digne. We were 1-0 up at that point so for me, making Kudus do a bit more defensive work wasn't an issue. And once Digne was eliminated Kudus could start to get forward again.

But Moyes over thinks it and goes ultra defensive. So he changes the whole shape of the team to accommodate a right back to eliminate Digne rather than just keep the same shape and approach with Kudus just keeping an eye on the threat.

One Moyes has a lead and the game is tight he will always start to think defensive and the players sit back.

So whether or not VAR got it right or wrong or the referee was good or bad. Point is that Moyes meddling and his main involvement in the game cost us. End of.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
Why was the Kudus goal ruled out?

Ref was so poor, VAR as usual isn't making the game better but making it worse for both fans in the stadium and at home

Said it a million times but go back to refs on the pitch doing everything, give them goal line tech with the watches and stuff.......take away VAR its making the standard of referring worse not better

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
The only sub that made any sense was Cresswell for Emerson. Moyes even fucked that up by not doing it at half time. Emerson clearly hadn't recovered from his recent injury and by the start of the second half was running through treacle.

As for Johnson for Antonio. Jesus! It would be unbelievable if it wasn't so fucking believable.

One thing I noted from yesterday’s events (while I was focused enough to pay any attention as I really had better things to do what with it being my wife’s birthday nosebag), both Paqueta and Kudus seem to have forgotten how to use a football while Bowen is practicing the Art of Being Invisible.

By the way, what is Earthy’s role in the squad other than making up the numbers?

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
Alvarez did fuck all wrong.. Their player did it all but because the officials see it and don't have a clue they ofter book the aggressive player and the one that did fuck all.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread - Preview
Two key bits in the game which ultimately affected the result.

A poor sub from Moyes. Sort of understand taking off Antonio but why bring on Johnson?
We were already under pressure and this created more.

A terrible referee. Even without VAR he was appalling. The bookings or non bookings a joke.

Also why only looking at the screen for one of the goals and not all? He lost control last 20 minutes and bottled every decision.

Manuel 11:18 Mon Mar 18
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread - Preview
Alvarez is a beast and you have to credit the club or Steidten for the signing, but as shit as Phillips has been I'm going to put some confidence in him to step up and show his worth in these coming games. It's all there for him now. Sink or swim.

Rossal 11:14 Mon Mar 18
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread - Preview
Not sure what is sucking the enjoyment of watching us more VAR or Moyes

Was fine until 55 minutes, the sub is fucking baffling. If he was that scared of Digne put Kudus out there, move Paqueta LW and put Ings in the 10

Yet another game where he goes to protect what we have and doesnt win. The manager is killing this team, killling the viewing experience and sucking the atmosphere out of every home game.

2nd half we literally just watched Villa pop it about waiting for them to score.

Alvarez yellow is a big blow aswell, needed him for Spurs. Didnt look like he did much wrong with his incident either

Least Phillips will have a few games in the side before we go to Germany. Although playing alongside the useless cunt Soucek I do feel for the bloke
